Education & Empowerment

Mentorship & Scholarship

The Mentorship Programme lies at the very heart of the Dr Syed Arshad Abbas Memorial Trust. It is one of the Trust's most impactful initiatives, originally established to support underprivileged, meritorious students who were sponsored by the Trust for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

Beyond financial assistance, sponsored candidates receive bespoke one-to-one mentoring, tailored to their individual academic and professional needs, until they successfully complete their degrees. To date, the Trust has provided mentoring support across diverse disciplines, including Bachelors of Technology in Biomedical Engineering, Masters in Bio Engineering, Master's in Echocardiography, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Building on the programme's success, the Trust later expanded its mentorship initiative to include mentees who are not financially sponsored by the Trust. Now in its second year, the Trust offers bespoke one-to-one mentoring to a limited number of non-sponsored candidates preparing for highly competitive entrance examinations, including the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), CUET LLB – Legal Studies, and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Each year, only three to four mentees are selected through a rigorous screening and selection process. Successful applicants receive personalised mentoring sessions throughout their academic journey. A defining strength of this programme is its cycle of giving back — many former mentees, who have benefited from the Trust's support, have voluntarily returned to contribute their time and expertise towards the Trust's mentorship programme.
